7 Supplements for Skinny Guys to Build Muscle

Nutritional Supplements are a way for you to add additional nutritional value to your diet in addition to the regular food that you eat.  Supplements are not a substitute for working hard or eating right, but the will help enhance your progress by helping you to work harder and recover quicker.  If you are skinny and trying to build muscle mass and get ripped fast, then you will need to add supplements to your normal diet.  This is a list of the supplements that I take to help me build muscle mass and get the most out of my fitness routine.

Get Ripped with a Success Partner

One of the toughest parts about working out and living a healthy lifestyle is staying committed to all aspects.  If you really want to build muscle fast and get ripped, you have to stick to workouts and nutrition plan.  But, how do you stay motivated?  How do you push through on those days that you feel like crap, or pass on the dessert when everyone else around you is eating cake?  Many people start out with great aspirations to transform their bodies, but after a while things start to slip.  They skip a workout here, or eat a twinkie there, then they throw in the towel.

We all go through these challenges and slip up now an then.  One of the best ways to ensure success with your fitness program is to have a support network that you can rely on.  The thing that has helped me to overcome many of these challenges in my own P90X Transformation is having a success partner.

A Success Partner is someone who you can share your milestones and failures with.  Your success partner helps to keep you accountable to your goals and pushes you back on track when you slip.  When choosing your success partner, you want to think about someone who can relate to the goals that you are trying to accomplish.  If you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle and build muscle, it helps if your success partner is also working towards similar goals.  You should also select someone who you can place your trust in, and can be honest and open with you.  You do not want someone who is just going to tell you what you want to hear.  A success partner can truly motivate you to stay with your program and stay on track towards your goals.

My success partner is my beachbody coach.  I began using a success partner about 6 months ago, and I feel like it has really helped me to stay on track towards my goals.  There have been many days that I did not feel like working out at the end of a long hard day.  But just knowing that someone was going to check in on me and ask about my workouts, was a reason for me to push through.  It doesn't seem like much, but just having that extra bit of accountability helps to keep me motivated.

It is very difficult to do it on your own, but having that success partner will help you get ripped and have the results that you want.

P90X Before and After Photos

As I struggled through 90 Days of the P90X at home Workout, the best motivation for me to keep pushing play was to see visual progress towards my goals.  Unfortunately, when it comes to building muscle mass, and getting ripped, the results do not come overnight.  You can often go for weeks without seeing the scale move or noticing any gain to your biceps.

I have found that the best way to see my progress was my P90X Before and After Photos.  I took pictures of myself before I started P90X even though I felt self conscious and uncomfortable with my body.  After 30 days I took another set of pictures and examined them very closely for any tiny changes.  Sure enough, I was able to detect a few shadows that were not there in the original picture.  Then I took pictures again after 60 days.  This time the changes were more noticeable and I didn't have to squint to see the changes.  Seeing these changes really motivated me to keep going because I could see that it was actually working.  The time, effort, sweat, and sacrifice was paying off.  This helped me to push even harder during the last 30 days because I knew that it was not a wasted effort.  Finally after 90 Days I could see my body transforming from a skinny and weak to strong and solid.

I highly recommend that you take some photos, wherever you are in your fitness journey.  You don't have to share them with anyone, but someday you may want to come back and show how far you have actually come in your P90X Transformation.

I was always skeptical of the P90X videos that showed dramatic P90X transformations of skinny guys getting ripped or very overweight guys losing a ton of weight.  I really didn't believe that those types of transformations were possible in just 90 days.  I have always been a very skinny guy - what some people would call a hard gainer.  It has always been difficult for me to put on any weight and I had difficulty building muscle.  Last year, I decided to Bring It hard for 90 days and decide for myself if P90X really works.

In 90 days I was able to transform my body, build lean muscle, and get ripped abs.  I can honestly say that P90X works for skinny guys like me - my before and after pictures are the proof.  How did I do it?  Well, I made a total commitment to follow the program 100% for 90 days.  It certainly wasn't easy, and I started and failed several times before I had any success.  However, once I finally committed to the 90 days - without skipping workouts, following the nutrition plan, and drinking Shakeology - I was able to get the kind of results that you see on TV.  I am proof that this program can work and I want to share the secrets with you.

Shakeology Bag ChocolateOne of the most important aspects of any fitness program is nutrition.  If you are skinny and trying to build muscle mass it is especially important because you need to take in a lot of calories. Of course it is easy to get a load of calories from junk food, but it is much more difficult to get the calories you need from healthy clean sources.  Most of us don't get the nutrients and vitamins necessary to fuel our muscles and gain mass.  If you want to get ripped fast, you need to supplement your normal diet with additional essential vitamins and minerals.  For me, the most important supplement is Shakeology.

It was my wife, Mary, who first saw the infamous P90X videos on TV shortly after the birth of our 4th child.  During those late nights up feeding the baby she would watch the infomercial over and over again.  As she watched people get ripped and their amazing P90X transformations she started to get excited thinking that this might finally be the way for her to loose weight and get back to her pre-pregnancy shape.

One day she came to me and asked me to watch the P90X videos with her.  I was initially very skeptical because in my mind, infomercials are always selling something that doesn't really work.  Does P90X really work?  Can a skinny guy build muscle and have the type of P90X transformation that they showed on TV?  Well, she kept after me and convinced me that it was my job as a husband to support her in her fitness goals, and that I should do that by starting P90X together with her.
